Written exam

If you have a hairdressing permit for a different state, you have to apply for an OK license via interchange by providing this information:

  • A present-day photograph

  • Ongoing certification documents

Or

  • Foreign Reciprocity permit app.
  • Hairstylist curriculum outline
  • A present-day photograph
  • Verification of eighth-grade completion
  • Evidence of a current permit
  • Social security number

After that, you have to complete the Reciprocity Exam Registration Application and pass the tests administered by the committee on condition that:

  • Firstly, your training does not meet the OK Board’s criteria
  • Secondly, your out-of-state permit has been inactive for five years
  • You do not completely fulfill the interchange standards

How to renew your Oklahoma barber license?

Just after you receive your authorization, you should renew it annually. Every year on the 30th of June your authorization will expire. Simultaneously, you will get a renewal notice from the council. Make sure you also include the $25 renewal fee.
